Door & Home Furnishing Glossary
Plain-language definitions of interior door, WPC door, wall panel and whole-house customization terms, with notes on how Goldea applies each product and service.
This glossary explains the terms used across the Goldea catalogue and quotations. Definitions are written for importers, distributors, contractors and developers evaluating interior doors, WPC doors and wall panels, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and bathroom furniture.
- Interior door
- A door installed inside a building to separate rooms while matching the interior design. Goldea produces laminated, painted, functional and fire-rated interior doors in wood and WPC constructions.
- WPC door
- Wood-plastic composite door: a door leaf and frame made from a wood-fibre and polymer blend, extruded into profiles that resist moisture and termites. WPC doors suit bathrooms, kitchens and humid climates.
- Wall panel
- A decorative panel fixed to interior walls to replace paint or tiles. Goldea WPC wall panels coordinate with door finishes so doors, walls and cabinets share one palette.
- Fire-rated door
- A door tested and certified to resist fire for a stated period, such as 30 or 60 minutes. Fire-rated doors are required in escape routes and machine rooms of hotels and apartments.
- Laminated door
- An interior door finished with a melamine or HPL laminate layer that gives a durable, scratch-resistant surface in wood-grain or solid colours.
- Painted door
- An interior door finished with factory-applied paint, usually polyurethane or water-based paint, giving smooth solid colours and deeper grain effects.
- OEM
- Original equipment manufacturing: the buyer supplies designs or samples and the factory produces goods in the buyer's brand. Goldea offers OEM door and cabinet production with in-house quality control.
- ODM
- Original design manufacturing: the factory designs and produces products that the buyer sells under its own brand. Goldea ODM covers door, wall panel and cabinet ranges ready for private labelling.
- Whole-house customization
- A supply model where doors, wall panels, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and bathroom furniture are designed, finished and delivered as one coordinated package instead of separate purchases.
- Project customization
- Furniture and door packages tailored to a specific building project. Goldea coordinates hotel, apartment, residential and commercial projects from drawings to shipment.
- Steel entrance door
- An exterior door built from galvanised or stainless steel panels over a reinforced core. Goldea steel entrance doors pair security-class cores with wood-look PVC or painted finishes for villa and apartment entrances.
- MDF
- Medium-density fibreboard: an engineered wood panel made from compressed wood fibres, stable enough for machined door skins and painted finishes. Goldea uses MDF door skins for crisp routed patterns.
- PVC lamination
- A decorative PVC film heat-pressed onto door or panel surfaces, giving moisture resistance and consistent colour. Common on WPC doors and wet-area wall panels.
- Barn door
- A sliding door hung on exposed top track hardware instead of swinging on hinges. Goldea barn doors save floor space in bedrooms, closets and compact apartments.
- Concealed door
- A flush door with hidden hinges and a frameless look that sits level with the wall. Concealed doors create minimal, uninterrupted interior lines.
- Edge banding
- The thin strip of material applied to exposed board edges on cabinets and shelves, sealing the core and matching the surface finish.
- Aluminium profile
- Extruded aluminium sections used for door edges, frames and cabinet trims. Aviation-grade aluminium profiles keep doors straight and light in large-leaf designs.
- Hotel project package
- A coordinated supply of guest-room doors, bathroom doors, wall panels and furniture casegoods for one hotel, quoted, produced and shipped as a single order.
